We have spoken from time to time about the notion of a content factory. The story on the link below came from a jock. Not a newsroom employee. The jock took the picture with a blackberry, wrote the short story and emailed it to news. They put it up.
Imagine if all jocks in all centers did this once a day?

Barrie, are you saying your jocks aren't doing enough already? Not every announcer can afford a Blackberry with e-mail. Maybe Golden West should outfit it's people with them. Our portals should sell these types of reports and the talent who writes and take the pictures should get a small fee. Only five to ten bucks a story would be a lot of incentive for a small market jock to really be pumped to make this work.
